I really enjoyed the session today even though I missed breaksfast (very late to wake up) and lunch (family duties) !!
Alaric's tips were really amazing and an eye-opener !! I did not expect to learn anything new... I just expected to see with my eyes all the things that I read in mooks and saw in videos.
How wrong I was !! Even for the simplest things like changing gears, Alaric has a special trick. We learned how to change gears, how to break, the basics behind small drop offs, technical ascends and descends and how to turn.
I have not become an accomplished trail rider after the course but I have learned A LOT which I will practice on my normal MTB rides and hopefully be ready for a more advanced course sometime in September ?
Many thanks to Alaric and Emily for their time and effort.

I've been riding with Alaric and Emily for quite sometime now, on almost every terrain, from easy double tracks to demanding single track descents, in the greater area of Athens.
Attending this skill course, I've realized that it's knowing the simple things that makes you a better rider, and Alaric is the man for the job. Apart from being an excellent rider, he has great teaching skills, and most of all, his character is such, that he makes you feel comfortable from the first time you meet him.
Looking forward for lesson no 2.
Alaric and Emily thanks for all the fun in a great day. |

| well, the course began with an excellent breakfast,we continued by going to "class" by the "master's" car, bikes in the trailer, and off we go!so simple things that we all thought we knew...ok it's not that if we didn't have the lesson we couldn't ride, but now we certainly ride more appropriate and safer and without "hurting" our bikes.my only problem was the heat, but the vision of soon entering the pool made it easier,so when we returned to the hotel,we showered and BLOOM! into the swimming pool, afterwards we ate a splendit meal and then...oups sorry but it was almost impossible to keep my eyes open,in the shadow,on the grass,by the pool, after lunch, listening to alaric explaining sth about maintenance...anyway we are looking forward to lesson II. |
